Electric lighter for gas from the mains 220V

To ignite the gas, a lighter or a match is usually used, as well as mechanical devices that create a high-voltage spark. But this spark can also be obtained using an electronic device connected to a 220-volt network. Press the button, and the spark for the gas is ready.

The current limiter is assembled on the capacitor C1 and a 15 kOhm resistor. The circuit is not isolated from the 220-volt network, so it is necessary to take safety precautions. The generator is assembled on a thyristor and a diode in the upper part of the circuit, this is nothing more than an analogue of a dinistor. When the breakdown voltage is reached on the capacitor C2, the dinistor breaks down, and the current pulse goes to winding 1 of the transformer, on winding 2 of which a spark occurs. Then the capacitor C2 is discharged, and the dinistor is locked. Then C2 is charged again, and everything is repeated

For the transformer core, I took a piece of ferrite from a broken core of a line-scan television transformer, which are used in old TVs and CRT monitors. I make cuts on the ferrite with a file on all sides and carefully break it.

We wind electrical tape on the ferrite and wind winding 2 on top, containing 900 turns of 0.14 mm wire, in three sections of 300 turns. Next, we wrap winding 2 with electrical tape in two layers and wind winding 1 on top, containing 9 turns of 0.3 mm wire, three turns in each section.

We assemble the device and check it. The spark is about 6 mm and it is enough to ignite the gas.
