When riding an electric scooter or bicycle under a power line, especially if the line is 500 kilovolts or higher, you may well feel small "shocks" of high voltage. This voltage is induced from the power line wires onto your vehicle and onto your body
I decided to check how much voltage is induced in my case. To do this, I took a voltmeter and positioned myself right under the power lines, by the way, there is a pedestrian path there. First, you need to make sure that the voltmeter probes do not "accept" voltage just like that, being in the air. As you can see, the voltmeter shows zero
Now one probe of the voltmeter, which I took in my hand, touched the electric scooter with the other. The voltmeter shows 482 volts. And why is this voltage not particularly dangerous? Because the current is small.
