My FNIRSI DPOX180H oscilloscope stopped turning on. This happened after I started charging the oscilloscope's completely discharged battery while the oscilloscope was on. It became clear that there was a short circuit or the charging microcircuit had failed.
After checking the power supply contacts with an ohmmeter, a short circuit was detected. I desoldered the IP2312 charging chip with a hair dryer, and the oscilloscope turned on again. This means the short circuit is in the chip itself and it's faulty.
The IP2312 microcircuit is designed for charging lithium batteries with a current of up to 3 Amperes.
I couldn't find this chip for sale, but there is a charging board for sale that uses this chip. That's where I desoldered this chip.
Then, using a hair dryer, I carefully soldered this microcircuit onto the oscilloscope board.
After the board cooled down after soldering, I turned on the oscilloscope and it works again.
