Zero resistance resistor 000. What is it for?

On various electronic circuit boards, you may see a resistor in the SMD design, with the inscription 000 or 0 on the body. This is called a zero-ohm resistor, although of course it does have a small resistance, but this can be ignored.
This resistor is a simple wire that runs over the printed circuit traces on the board and connects two traces together.
