The IR502 is an excellent tester for measuring the internal resistance of batteries and simply for measuring low resistance, such as a 10 cm long wire. A regular multimeter won't measure this kind of resistance, but this tester will.
This tester can be used to check the internal resistance of various batteries. The higher the battery's resistance, the worse its performance and characteristics will be. That's why it's important to monitor their resistance. The tester can measure resistance from 0 to 500 ohms; voltage from 0 to 120 V;
Connect the two probes together and their resistance should be 0 ohms. The tester can be calibrated by going into the settings. The probes will produce a sine wave signal with a frequency of 1 kHz during measurement.
Measuring the 18650 battery. The tester shows its voltage at 4.063V and internal resistance of 77 mOhm, which is not a very good indicator, since the normal value should be approximately 20-50 mOhm for the 18650 size.
Measuring low resistance. I bent a paperclip and its resistance is 25 mOhm. A regular voltmeter will show 0 volts.
This is calibration mode
